Continental Tires has unveiled its latest tyre line, the ExtremeContact XC7, which includes several new features designed to enhance safety and comfort. Notably, this new range is the first to incorporate ContiSeal and ContiSilent technologies across all available sizes, catering to a variety of consumer needs.
A prominent feature of the ExtremeContact XC7 is the ContiSeal Self-Sealing Technology. This technology uses a sticky, viscous sealant layer inside the tyre to seal punctures up to 5 mm in diameter, allowing drivers to continue driving without immediate repair. According to Tolga Mutlu, Head of Product Management for Continental Tires APAC, "One of the core technologies applied to this new product - ContiSeal Self-Sealing Technology, continuously guards the safety of users and is widely recognized in the world."
The tyre line, developed with a focus on the Chinese market, is available exclusively on Tuhu, a major online auto retail platform in China. This partnership aims to align the product offering with the specific needs of Chinese consumers, particularly those in the new energy vehicle sector.
The ExtremeContact XC7 is designed for improved safety on wet roads, a common driving condition in many regions of China. The tyre features Aqua Channel Advanced surface sipes for efficient water drainage, enhancing grip on wet surfaces. Additionally, the Zig-Zag serrated grooves design and Blade Edge Pattern help break through water films, reducing the risk of slippage.
For a quieter driving experience, the ExtremeContact XC7 includes CSS 2-in-1 Noise Reduction Technology. This system combines ContiSilent, which uses polyurethane foam to absorb tyre cavity noise, with a sealant layer that reduces vibrations. The design aims to offer a broader range of noise reduction, catering to the demand for quieter mobility.
The tyre is available in sizes ranging from 17" to 20", suitable for various luxury cars and SUVs. The range includes 34 articles, providing options for a wide array of vehicle types.
