Honouring the Pioneers of Aviation

Inspired by the historic Michelin Aviation Cup of 1908, the Michelin Challenge Cup Revival aimed to promote a safe and responsible approach to aviation. The competition featured three main categories: combustion engine aircraft, electric planes, and a flying club division. The event successfully modernised the original challenges, bringing together licensed pilots from the Fédération Française Aéronautique (FFA) and committed French flying clubs.

The competition spanned two months and was marked by six distinct challenges. Participation flights were meticulously recorded using the KRISTA.air mobile application, the official partner of the event. A dedicated committee, comprising members of the FFA, Michelin, and KRISTAL.air, carefully analysed 184 flights to determine the winners.

Celebrating Excellence in Aviation

The awards ceremony recognised the following winners:

  • Electric Aircraft Performance Trophy: Françoise LUGAN from Royan Côte de Beauté Flying Club.
  • Combustion Engine Aircraft Pilot Trophy: Philippe LEPETIT from Egletonnais Flying Club.
  • Flying Club Trophy: Vichy Flying Club.

These awards not only celebrated technical excellence and flight safety but also honoured the most committed flying clubs. The trophies, modelled after the iconic 1908 Michelin Aviation Cup, served as a tribute to the legendary competition.
