Tyre Collective Partners with Rivian to Combat Microplastic Pollution from Tyres

The Tyre Collective is addressing the environmental threat posed by microplastics with a pioneering device that captures tyre wear.

This effort is crucial as tyre wear is the second-largest source of microplastic pollutants, which endanger marine ecosystems and contribute to air pollution. Recently, they collaborated with American electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian to trial their innovative tyre wear capturing device.

This device is tested on Rivian’s electric commercial vans, known for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% compared to traditional delivery vehicles. Positioned behind the wheels, the device aims to prevent tyre debris from polluting our surroundings.
