Michelin's National Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland – Beyond Road, Mark White, highlighted how this partnership aims to enhance the brand’s distribution strategy for agricultural customers.
"In order to enhance and strengthen our existing distribution strategy, Michelin is introducing a stockholding into R. H. Claydon which will complement and support the services offered by our Michelin Exelagri dealers," says White. "Our goal with this evolution is to ensure improved Michelin stockholding for our agricultural customers."
R. H. Claydon will hold stock from Michelin’s renowned Ultraflex Technology range, including the MICHELIN AxioBib 2, MICHELIN XeoBib, and MICHELIN TrailXBib tyres. These tyres are designed to operate at lower pressures, helping to protect soil health and improve agricultural yields—a key concern for modern farmers looking to boost productivity while preserving their land.
Mick Claydon, Managing Director of R. H. Claydon, expressed enthusiasm about the new collaboration with Michelin, underscoring the benefits this agreement will bring to farmers and contractors.
"Michelin is known across the globe for developing products of exceptional quality, packed with the latest technologies to help the end user get the very best from their machinery," said Claydon. "We are excited to be working with them under this new agreement, helping to make these tyres more widely available to farmers and contractors across the UK."
Founded in 1953 by Roy Claydon, R. H. Claydon has over 70 years of experience as a specialist wholesaler, providing nationwide tyre distribution. The company operates from its warehouses in Bury St Edmunds, Carlisle, Falkirk, Handforth, Launceston, Scunthorpe, Swindon, and Tunbridge Wells, using its own fleet of vehicles to supply tyres to the trade.
This partnership between Michelin and R. H. Claydon marks an important step forward for the distribution of premium agricultural tyres in the UK. With the increased availability of Michelin’s advanced tyre technology, farmers will have more opportunities to access the benefits of cutting-edge designs like Ultraflex, which are tailored to the needs of modern agriculture, focusing on performance and sustainability.
Michelin's Ultraflex Technology tyres, which will be stocked by R. H. Claydon, are recognised for their ability to operate at lower pressures than standard tyres, allowing for reduced soil compaction. This feature is critical for protecting the soil structure and ensuring optimal crop yields, making Michelin a trusted brand among farmers committed to sustainable practices.
As Michelin and R. H. Claydon join forces, the agricultural sector in the UK can expect even better access to premium products and services designed to help farmers get the most out of their machinery while safeguarding their land for future generations.
