The new Serie 02 line, which includes the R02 Proway and R02 Proway M1 tyres, has been designed with regional applications in mind. It offers tailored solutions to meet varying demands across climates and road conditions. These tyres will be available starting this October, with models suited for high-severity operational environments like those in Turkey, as well as more temperate conditions across Europe.

In the last seven years, over €185 million has been invested in Prometeon’s Izmit facility, a production hub renowned for its innovation. This facility recently earned ISCC Plus certification, underscoring its commitment to sustainability through bio-based and circular materials. According to CEO Roberto Righi, the launch of Prometeon-branded Serie 02 tyres represents a “new phase in the history of our company.” He highlighted the brand’s commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency, offering tyres that promise increased durability, mileage, and retreadability.

Prometeon also hosted a celebratory event in Istanbul, welcoming more than 400 guests to experience the performance of its tyres on and off the track. Among the attendees were renowned motorsport drivers, including Martin Macík, Dakar Rally champion, and Bia Figueiredo, a prominent competitor in Copa Truck.

The new R02 tyre line showcases the Serie 02 technology package, which has been rigorously tested over 200 million kilometres in diverse conditions. Compared to the previous generation, these tyres deliver a 15% increase in both mileage and durability, and a 20% boost in sustainability and retreadability.

The Izmit plant, established in 1960 and recently modernised, produces over 1.85 million tyres annually, with more than half exported across Europe. This site remains central to Prometeon’s expansion strategy, especially as the Group continues to prioritise energy-efficient production and reduced greenhouse gas emissions in line with its ISO 50001 certification.

The launch of the Prometeon brand in these key markets not only marks a new chapter for the company but also reinforces its strategy to deliver sustainable, cost-effective solutions tailored for today’s fleets.
