Pirtek Preston, a renowned Lancashire-based hydraulics specialist, has announced its partnership with PCL, a global leader in tyre inflation and compressed air products. The Walton Summit-based depot, known for its 24/7 breakdown service and wide range of hydraulic solutions, will now also be a local distributor of PCL’s market-leading pneumatic products.
Pirtek Preston, part of the Pirtek franchise, has built a solid reputation for delivering fast, reliable services across sectors like agriculture, automotive, construction, and manufacturing. With five mobile technicians covering breakdowns around the clock, the company prides itself on operational excellence, which is why Sales Director John Osborne sought out PCL to further enhance their offering.
Pirtek Preston will now stock a range of PCL products, including tyre inflators, couplings, hose reels, airlines, and compressors, which are predominantly aimed at the transport workshop sector.
“I saw their Area Sales Manager, Michael Dooker, on LinkedIn, describing what PCL can help distributors achieve, and decided to take the plunge and bring the product on to the trade counter so that we could push it forward ourselves,” said Osborne.
The new partnership has already proven to be a success, with a dedicated merchandise stand driving sales and repeat business. “Michael organised product training for the front counter and supplier days, which were a great success. We took the PCL Demo Van out to visit local customers, resulting in orders from 9 out of 10 visits,” Osborne added.
The collaboration between Pirtek Preston and PCL has strengthened the hydraulic specialist’s presence in the pneumatic market. The depot has seen increased demand for PCL’s products after a successful demo day at their trade counter, where Michael Dooker engaged with customers, demonstrating products from current stock.
“Michael provided fantastic support. He interacted with customers, demonstrating products and educating them on different options we can supply. The trade counter was extremely busy, and we’ve had increasing requests for PCL products ever since,” said Osborne.
