The new forged aluminium wheels not only fill a crucial gap in Maxion’s truck wheel range but also strengthen the company’s market position. "Our new forged aluminium wheels not only complete our market-leading truck wheel portfolio but also solidify our position as a strong and trusted partner for our commercial vehicle customers," said Pieter Klinkers, Chief Executive Officer of Maxion Wheels. "With our profound expertise in wheel design, engineering, and manufacturing, we are positioned well to deliver a comprehensive and innovative product range that meets the diverse needs of truck, trailer, bus, and tanker OEMs, as well as aftermarket customers."
This new line of forged aluminium wheels is the result of a $150 million USD joint venture between Maxion Wheels and its long-standing Turkish partner, Inci Holding, established in 2022. Together, the companies have built a state-of-the-art 20,000-square-metre manufacturing facility in Manisa, Türkiye, which is nearing completion. Equipment installation is proceeding on schedule, with serial production set to begin in the second half of 2025.
Mustafa Zaim, President of the Board of Maxion Inci and Maxion Jantas, expressed his excitement about the collaboration's success: “We are thrilled to see our joint venture with Maxion Wheels prosper even more with the introduction of these forged aluminium wheels. The new plant is a testament to our shared vision and dedication to excellence, underscoring our commitment to delivering superior quality and performance to our customers.”
Maxion’s new forged aluminium wheels offer a significant advantage for commercial vehicle operators. They are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and engineered for durability, which will help improve vehicle fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. With an initial production capacity of 350,000 wheels annually, the facility is also designed to scale up, with the potential to double production capacity in the coming years.
The product line will debut with the most in-demand wheel sizes, available in three finishes to suit different aesthetic and performance preferences. These wheels will meet the highest industry standards for durability and appearance, catering to a wide range of customers in the truck, bus, and trailer sectors, including both original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the aftermarket.
Maxion Wheels’ latest innovation underscores its commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions for the commercial vehicle industry. As part of Iochpe-Maxion S.A., Maxion works with OEMs worldwide to create steel and aluminium wheels for diverse applications, from personal mobility to heavy-duty transport.
With over 10,000 employees and operations in 31 locations across five continents, Maxion produces 50 million wheels each year. This global reach, combined with the company’s commitment to low-carbon manufacturing and energy efficiency, cements Maxion’s leadership in the wheel manufacturing sector.
