Joining RE100 aligns with JK Tyre’s commitment to achieving 100% renewable electricity by 2050 and becoming carbon neutral. The company has already made significant progress toward these goals, currently sourcing 40% of its energy consumption from renewable sources and planning to increase this figure by 2-5% annually.
By FY2030, JK Tyre aims to reduce greenhouse gas emission intensity by 50% compared to its FY2019 baseline, continuing its remarkable achievement of a 64% reduction since FY2014.
JK Tyre is the 16th Indian business and the first tyre manufacturer in India to join RE100. Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director, emphasised the importance of this milestone:
