Fluid Ice Family Office Ltd has gained approval to build a tyre pyrolysis plant in Grimsby, set to create around 50 full-time and 30 to 40 contract jobs.
Located at Great Coates Business Park, the facility aims to recycle nearly 25,000 tonnes of end-of-life tyres annually, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 60,000 tonnes per year. This innovative plant will utilise the process of pyrolysis to convert tyre waste into reusable materials such as carbon black, steel, and oil. The project, inspired by a similar facility in southern Poland, addresses the significant issue of tyre waste in the UK, the world's largest exporter of waste tyres, and aims to mitigate environmental degradation and fly-tipping problems.
