Goodyear’s New Service Offering Reduces Costs and Minimises Vehicle Downtime
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has introduced an innovative tyres-as-a-service offering, designed to help major fleets in the U.S. and Europe lower operational costs and reduce vehicle breakdowns. This new subscription-based solution combines Goodyear’s premium tyres, predictive insights, and extensive service network into a single, worry-free package.
Building upon Goodyear's successful Total Mobility program, this new service aims to manage all tyre-related needs for its customers. It is particularly beneficial for commercial and last-mile delivery fleets, offering an end-to-end tyre management system that saves time and reduces the total cost of ownership. The service promises increased uptime, fewer vehicle breakdowns, and lower fuel consumption.
Impressive Results in Pilot Programs
Recent pilot programmes have demonstrated the effectiveness of Goodyear’s tyres-as-a-service solution. A last-mile delivery fleet in the U.S. reported an almost 80% reduction in emergency vehicle breakdowns and a complete elimination of customer-owned inventory. Similarly, a commercial fleet in Europe saw a nearly 50% reduction in breakdown events and a 4% decrease in fuel consumption compared to the previous year.
