Goodyear has been selected as the original equipment (OE) tire supplier for Audi's latest fully electric premium SUV, the Audi Q6 e-tron. This collaboration sees Goodyear providing tailor-made summer and winter tires specifically designed to meet the performance and environmental requirements of the Q6 e-tron. The approved tires come from Goodyear’s well-regarded Eagle F1 Asymmetric and UltraGrip ranges, catering to multiple trim levels and offering sizes from 18 to 21 inches.

Goodyear worked closely with Audi to develop these tyres, ensuring they aligned with the demands of electric vehicle (EV) technology. The focus was on enhancing driving performance while minimising environmental impact, with particular attention paid to reducing road noise—a critical factor for the Q6 e-tron's homologation under new noise regulations.
The Audi Q6 e-tron required tyres that complied with updated noise regulations, which mandate a reduction of 2 dB in exterior road noise. To meet this requirement, Goodyear designed the tyres with advanced tread patterns and optimised construction, helping reduce noise levels while maintaining excellent handling and cornering stability.
Each tyre was developed with the specific requirements of the Q6 e-tron in mind. Notably, Goodyear developed different specifications for the front and rear axles, allowing each to be fine-tuned for maximum stability and driving dynamics. The result is a tyre package that supports the handling and performance characteristics expected from Audi’s latest electric SUV.
Goodyear's ongoing relationship with Audi is grounded in mutual trust and a shared commitment to innovation. Alexandre Scharis, Goodyear’s Senior Technical Project Manager, said: “Goodyear’s relationship with Audi is special in that it fosters a trust in us to develop bespoke tyres tailored to their latest models. In developing these tyres, we worked very closely with the Audi team on modelling and testing, including fundamental bead area studies which resulted in an innovative bead area design that delivers extremely consistent tyre performance.”

The partnership between Audi and Goodyear extends beyond the Q6 e-tron. Goodyear has previously supplied OE tyres for other electric Audi models, including the e-tron GT quattro and RS e-tron GT. The Eagle F1 Asymmetric and UltraGrip tyres developed for the Q6 e-tron build on this experience, further cementing Goodyear’s position as a trusted supplier for high-performance EVs.
