Key Features and Specifications

The Giti GTR956 HD Combi Road is initially available in size 385/65R22.5, with an additional size, 265/70R19.5, expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2024. This tyre is designed to excel in tough conditions, including mountainous and winding roads, rough terrains, and even has limited off-road capabilities.

Key features of the GTR956 HD include:

  • Reinforced Structure: The tyre's reinforced structure is developed to handle severe regional conditions and heavy-duty operations, providing enhanced robustness and resistance to chunking.
  • Solid and Wide Tread Shoulders: These deliver increased durability and competitive mileage, particularly in rough working sites and during challenging vehicle manoeuvres.
  • Longitudinal Zig-Zag Tread Grooves: These grooves ensure effective water drainage, high grip characteristics in all weather conditions, and reduced stone trapping, enhancing the tyre's overall performance and longevity.
  • 3PMSF Certification: The tyre carries the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol, indicating its suitability for winter conditions and compliance with European regulations for winter tyres.

Enhanced Durability and Performance

The Giti GTR956 HD is positioned alongside the Giti GTR955 Combi Road in the company’s trailer tyre portfolio, offering an option with added emphasis on robustness and durability. The tyre’s design is particularly focused on withstanding the wear and tear associated with severe regional applications, making it an ideal choice for fleets that require a reliable and durable tyre solution.

Antonio Palummo, TBR Senior Engineer – Europe for Giti Tire, commented on the launch: “The implementation of the GTR956 HD provides a reliable solution for highly demanding regional usage applications, with the required enhanced robustness in both the tread and casing areas requested by our fleet customers. The tyre is designed to complement the GTR955 in applications where mixed-service properties are required.”

The new tread compound, specifically developed for the GTR956 HD, is designed to perform under the most challenging conditions, ensuring that fleets can operate efficiently and safely, even in the toughest environments.
