Bridgestone's VCLG 18.00R25 Tyre: A Game Changer for Reach Stackers
Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) has announced the launch of its latest addition to the port tyre portfolio, the V-Steel Container Lifter G-Smooth (VCLG) 18.00R25. This new tyre is set to revolutionise port and industrial operations with its advanced features and robust performance.
The Bridgestone VCLG promises to deliver exceptional heat resistance, increased load capacity, and extended tyre life, making it a vital asset for the demanding environments of port operations. With a 3-star rated casing structure, the VCLG offers a 6% increase in load capacity, ensuring enhanced durability and reliability under heavy usage.
One of the standout features of the VCLG is its 20% longer tyre life, achieved through a deeper tread depth that not only extends the tyre's lifespan but also boosts productivity and results in significant long-term cost savings. Additionally, the improved heat resistance addresses the challenge of tyre heat generation in severe operational conditions, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

The VCLG tyre is a testament to Bridgestone’s commitment to supporting the U.S. supply chain, which relies on 300 ports operating around the clock, handling approximately 1.6 billion tonnes of international freight annually. The tyre is part of Bridgestone’s extensive portfolio of products tailored for the port segment, which includes solutions for empty container handlers, loaded container handlers, straddle carriers, and automated guided vehicles.
In addition to the VCLG, Bridgestone recently introduced the V-Steel Port Container Straddle (VPCS) radial tyre, designed for straddle containers, further reinforcing their dedication to the port industry. Bridgestone’s suite of solutions and technologies, such as the Bridgestone Advanced Tyre Monitoring Services & Asset Management, enhances productivity by turning tyres into real-time data sources, thereby reducing overall operational costs.
