Bohnenkamp, the long-standing tyre wholesaler based in Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, has announced its transition to a European public limited company (Societas Europaea, SE). The company, which has been a staple in the tyre industry for over 70 years, will now operate under the name Bohnenkamp SE, reflecting its growing international presence and ambitions.
With subsidiaries and representative offices in more than 30 countries, Bohnenkamp has solidified its position as a major player in the global tyre market. The shift to a European public limited company underscores the company's commitment to furthering its international reach and modernising its corporate structure to align with its expansive business activities.
Michael Rieken, Chief Financial Officer of Bohnenkamp SE, elaborated on the significance of this transition: "With this step, we are taking account of the growing international orientation of our business activities." Rieken also reassured customers and partners in a formal letter that the change is purely structural, with no impact on existing business operations. "This is merely a formal amendment to the business form. For our retail customers, everything remains as it is—reliable, down-to-earth, and 100% focussed on their needs," he added.
While the company’s legal form has evolved, Bohnenkamp SE has made it clear that its commitment to customer service and its core values remain steadfast. The transition will not affect any business processes, contacts, or relationships that the company has cultivated over decades.
