The Christmas families project began in 2020, responding to the financial pressures brought on by the Covid pandemic. Since then, Ben has helped nearly 700 adults and children, ensuring they can afford basic living costs and enjoy Christmas celebrations.
In 2023 alone, Ben supported 265 automotive families, including 120 children, with food vouchers and other essentials. The charity expects to help even more this year, as cost-of-living challenges persist.
Rachel Clift, Chief Executive Officer at Ben, shared:
“At a more expensive time of year, we want to make sure no automotive family goes without the opportunity to have a Christmas meal together and a gift for their children. We’re incredibly proud to have helped hundreds of automotive people through this project over the past four years.”
The emotional impact of Ben’s support is evident in the heartfelt words of recipients:
While the Christmas families project is a seasonal initiative, Ben provides year-round support to thousands in the automotive industry. Whether it’s managing the cost-of-living crisis, homelessness, or mental health challenges, Ben’s free and confidential helpline is a vital resource for those in need.
Rachel Clift added:
“No-one in our automotive family should face homelessness or have to make impossible decisions about whether they can afford to put food on the table or heat their homes. We provide life-changing and, often life-saving, support to many families and individuals who can’t afford the basics. Please don’t struggle alone—get in touch today.”
