The company’s new VF Technology range incorporates advanced tread patterns, a reinforced casing, and high-performance steel belts, all of which contribute to improving fuel efficiency, soil health, and adapting to modern tillage practices.
“More and more farmers have realised that they can farm better when they use well-designed tyres,” says Dhaval Nanavati, CEO of Ascenso. “From the advanced tread designs to the extra-strong casing with high performance steel belts, the V-range not only upgrades the tyres’ performance on metrics such as traction, roadability and load-carrying, but brings important new measures such as fuel efficiency, soil health and the ability to cope with changing tillage practices too.”
A key feature of the VF range is its low-pressure tread design, which enables a longer, wider footprint. This extended surface area provides the tyre with greater traction while reducing the risk of slippage, which is a major contributor to soil damage and compaction.
“Slipping tyres is one of the main factors involved in soil damage and compaction from machinery,” Mr Nanavati explains. “Rightly so, farmers are increasingly aware of the perils of soil damage. The V-range gives them a valuable new option that fully recognises the importance of soil health, and how tyres can play an invaluable role in soil protection.”
In line with its commitment to sustainable manufacturing, Ascenso has introduced its ‘Tread Green’ philosophy, an initiative aimed at achieving a zero-carbon footprint. The programme promotes natural resource conservation through eco-friendly practices across Ascenso’s operations.
Notably, Ascenso’s manufacturing facility in Panoli, India, has already achieved Edge Green Building certification, with significant milestones such as a 30% reduction in energy usage and a 78% reduction in water consumption. The plant also boasts a reduced embodied energy in construction materials by 65%.
Ascenso plans to power the Panoli plant with renewable sources, including wind and solar energy, which is expected to reduce annual CO2 emissions by over 8,500 tonnes.
Beyond soil protection, Ascenso’s VF range emphasises tyre longevity. By developing a Special Stubble Resistant (SSR) compound, Ascenso aims to protect tyres from wear during no-till cultivation and stubble field operations. This SSR compound contributes to greater durability, reducing the overall environmental impact associated with tyre replacements and production.
Mr Nanavati summarises Ascenso’s mission: “Ascenso’s tyres are designed for today’s farmers – meeting their dual needs of unfettered performance and reliability, alongside environmental credentials and sustainability. Good tyres should meet those needs, and it’s why we believe we can become the most preferred brand not just in agriculture, but throughout the wider OHT sector.”
With this VF Technology range and an eye towards a sustainable future, Ascenso positions itself as a forward-thinking brand for farmers seeking high-performing, environmentally responsible tyres.
