Bridgestone Unveils Custom Potenza Sport Tyres for Maserati’s First All-Electric SUV

Maserati, known for its luxury performance vehicles, turned to Bridgestone for tyres that would enhance the capabilities of its new all-electric SUV. The custom-developed Bridgestone Potenza Sport ENLITEN tyres, the company’s flagship ultra-high performance tyres, were engineered to meet the specific demands of the Grecale Folgore. These tyres are designed to deliver superior handling and performance in both dry and wet conditions, ensuring drivers maintain control even in challenging environments.

The Potenza Sport ENLITEN tyres are tailored to extend the driving range of the Grecale Folgore, achieving a best-in-class EU Label A-grade for very low rolling resistance. This innovation supports the vehicle’s 500km range, a significant enhancement for electric vehicle (EV) performance. Bridgestone’s ENLITEN Technology, which focuses on sustainability and top-tier performance, plays a crucial role in these tyres, offering maximum safety and efficiency.

Both Bridgestone and Maserati are committed to advancing electric mobility. Bridgestone’s efforts include developing premium tyres and technologies for EVs, and creating dedicated fleet and mobility solutions. The company is also building an EV-ready retail and service network. Maserati, on its part, is pioneering electric luxury vehicles, with a plan to produce electric versions of all its models by 2025 and to exclusively manufacture electric vehicles by 2028.

The Maserati Grecale Folgore and its bespoke Bridgestone tyres are designed and produced in Italy, reflecting Maserati’s deep-rooted Italian heritage. The tyres were developed using Bridgestone’s proprietary Virtual Tyre Development technology in conjunction with Maserati’s driving simulator. This innovative approach allowed for digital creation and testing, reducing the need for physical prototypes, conserving raw materials, and lowering carbon emissions. This method not only enhances environmental sustainability but also accelerates the time to market.
