BKT has expanded its AGRIMAX range with the introduction of the AGRIMAX SPARGO SB, a new steel-belted version designed to improve strength, handling and efficiency in row crop, vineyard and orchard operations.

The new tyre has been engineered to meet the specific challenges of farming environments where steep terrain, narrow row spacing and muddy conditions require precision and reliability.

The AGRIMAX SPARGO SB builds on the existing AGRIMAX SPARGO row crop tyre, which already features VF (Very High Flexion) technology. The VF design allows the tyre to carry the same load at lower inflation pressure, helping to reduce soil compaction while improving comfort and handling.

The key innovation in the AGRIMAX SPARGO SB is its steel-belted structure, combined with a strong polyester casing. According to BKT, this delivers greater strength, flexibility and durability compared to traditional materials.

Enhanced tread and handling performance

The AGRIMAX SPARGO SB features a deeper tread and narrower lugs than its predecessor, creating a more open and taller tread pattern. This design aims to improve road handling while achieving a D-class speed rating, allowing speeds of up to 65 km/h.

The tyre includes a dual-layer mud ejection system to clear debris from the tread quickly, providing smoother transitions between field and road. BKT highlights that this feature helps prevent mud accumulation, which can impact safety and handling.

Dilip Vaidya, Sr. President & Director Technology at BKT, said: "In the case of the AGRIMAX SPARGO SB, we have paid special attention to the casing design by using a strong polyester structure that offers greater strength, flexibility and durability than traditional materials. This choice enables the tyre to handle heavy loads while keeping deformation under control, improving the footprint and thus traction, stability, and handling."

Steel belts improve strength and reduce wear

The use of steel belts enhances the tyre’s puncture resistance, reducing the risk of damage from sharp debris and lowering the chance of downtime. It also improves ride precision at higher speeds.

The combination of steel belts and polyester casing supports even stress distribution across the tyre, which helps reduce uneven wear and extend the tread life. BKT claims this structure helps maintain the tyre’s shape under load, improving rolling efficiency and reducing fuel consumption.

A redesigned sidewall further improves ride comfort by limiting vibration, which is particularly beneficial during precision spraying operations.

Through the AGRIMAX SPARGO SB, BKT aims to offer farmers an advanced solution that supports operational efficiency, environmental care and long-term profitability.
