Volvo Trucks Launches Subscription-Based My Business Apps in 2024, Featuring Goodyear DriverHub Integration

Volvo Trucks has announced the launch of its innovative subscription-based service, My Business Apps, set to roll out in selected European markets during 2024. This groundbreaking service allows customers to download business-related apps from various service providers directly onto the truck's side display, eliminating the need for additional smartphones or tablets. One of the standout features of this new service is the integration of Goodyear's DriverHub application, designed to provide drivers and fleet managers with real-time tyre data—a crucial element for optimising vehicle performance.

The Goodyear DriverHub application seamlessly integrates with Goodyear’s comprehensive tyre management solutions, including Goodyear TPMS, Goodyear CheckPoint, and Goodyear DrivePoint. This integration ensures continuous and accurate tyre condition information, enhancing the overall efficiency and safety of fleet operations.

"Integrating Goodyear DriverHub with Volvo Trucks’ My Business Apps represents an important step toward enhancing fleet management with advanced tyre monitoring solutions," stated Piotr Czyżyk, Managing Director Fleet Mobility EMEA at Goodyear. "Our digital application ensures that drivers and fleet managers have access to vital tyre data, helping them make informed decisions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support sustainability."

Annelie Norhav, Product Owner at Volvo Trucks, added, "My Business Apps is an addition to our digital service offering in Volvo Connect. By collaborating with other service providers, we can offer a wider range of in-vehicle services to our customers and their drivers. It means that our customers can benefit from using already existing hardware and connectivity in their Volvo trucks and improving the driver’s work environment inside the cab."

Key Features of the Goodyear DriverHub Application within My Business Apps:

  • Real-Time Tyre Monitoring: Immediate alerts and notifications for tyre pressure and temperature deviations, enabling proactive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and enhance road safety.
  • Predictive Maintenance: Early detection of pressure leaks, with differentiation between fast and slow leaks, allowing drivers to take timely and appropriate actions.
  • Sustainability: Improved tyre maintenance leads to better fuel efficiency and lower emissions, contributing to more sustainable fleet operations.

Norhav further emphasised, "The collaboration with Goodyear makes it possible for us together to deliver a more complete solution to our common customers and make new customers aware of how they can benefit from this collaboration."

My Business Apps will be available for trucks built from week 9 of 2021 onwards that are equipped with a side display. This new service represents a significant advancement in the digital capabilities of Volvo Trucks, enhancing both the driver experience and overall fleet management efficiency.
