TyreSafe has announced an exciting new partnership with RED Driver Training, marking a major step in its mission to educate new drivers on tyre safety. As TyreSafe’s first dedicated driving school supporter, RED will help promote safe driving habits from the earliest stages of learning.

RED Driver Training is one of the largest driving schools in the UK, preparing thousands of learners each year for their driving tests through a nationwide network of RED franchised instructors.

Alongside standard lessons, RED provides advanced driving experiences, including:

kidpan sessions – Teaching learners how to handle challenging road conditions.
heory & practical test prep app – Supporting learners with essential road safety knowledge.

This collaboration will allow TyreSafe to reach and educate young drivers at the start of their driving journey, ensuring that tyre safety awareness becomes second nature.

“We are thrilled to partner with RED Driver Training, an organisation that shares our commitment to road safety and education. New drivers are at a crucial stage in forming safe driving habits, and through this partnership, we have an incredible opportunity to instil the importance of tyre safety from the very beginning of their journey on the roads.”

Stuart Lovatt, Chair of TyreSafe

Why Tyre Safety Matters for New Drivers

Tyre-related issues, such as underinflated tyres, poor tread depth, and blowouts, are a leading cause of road accidents. New and younger drivers—often less experienced in vehicle maintenance—are particularly vulnerable.

By integrating tyre safety education into driving lessons, practical training, and digital learning tools, this partnership aims to:

✔ Encourage responsible tyre maintenance habits from the outset.
✔ Reduce tyre-related accidents among new drivers.
✔ Raise awareness of key safety checks, such as tread depth and pressure monitoring.

“At RED, our goal is to equip new drivers with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to stay safe on the roads, and tyre safety is an integral part of that. Joining forces with TyreSafe allows us to enhance our offering and emphasise the critical role tyres play in keeping drivers and passengers safe.”

Colin Paterson, Head of Marketing at RED Driver Training

What This Partnership Means for Learners

As part of the collaboration, TyreSafe and RED Driver Training will explore new ways to educate drivers, including:

🎬 Collaborative video content – Making tyre safety education more accessible.
📱 Digital learning integration – Enhancing RED’s ‘Learn to Drive with RED’ app with tyre safety modules.
🛞 Practical training opportunities – Ensuring learners understand how to check and maintain their tyres.

This initiative is expected to set a new benchmark in driving education, embedding tyre safety awareness into the learning process for generations to come.

“We’re proud to be TyreSafe’s first driving ‘school’ supporter and look forward to working together to make a real difference.” – Colin Paterson, RED Driver Training
