Michelin has announced the expansion of its REMIX® 2 range, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable truck tyre retreading. The company now offers a second premium nominative hot retread for the popular MICHELIN X MULTI range—one of Europe’s best-selling and most versatile truck tyre lines.
Following its previous retreading solutions for urban (X INCITY) and off-road (X WORKS) applications, Michelin now extends the REMIX® 2 range to cover the X MULTI sizes 315/70 R 22.5 and 315/80 R 22.5.
“With REMIX® 2, MICHELIN provides a new solution to the challenges now facing fleet managers. The addition of a second premium retread reduces operating costs while offering performance equivalent to that of new tyres.”
— Paul de Lajudie, Michelin Group Truck Tyre Retread Director
Michelin’s REMIX® 2 retreading process allows fleet managers to return their used casings, which are then retreaded and returned with the same tread patterns and compounds as new tyres.
✅ Up to 95% of the mileage performance of a new tyre
✅ Same levels of grip, traction, and safety
✅ Marked identically to first-retread REMIX® tyres
✅ Manufactured to Michelin’s strict quality standards
Available in France, Benelux, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, this latest development builds on Michelin’s expertise as a multi-life tyre specialist for over a century.
Retreading offers significant cost advantages, reducing operating expenses while supporting sustainability initiatives.
Lower costs per kilometre: A retreaded tyre costs 60% of a new tyre, offering a 33% improvement in cost-per-kilometre over two retreads.
Environmental benefits: Each retread saves 50kg of raw materials, requiring only 20kg of new material—a 70% resource saving compared to producing a new tyre.
Waste reduction: Retreading six tyres on a three-axle trailer prevents 300kg of waste and reduces landfill demand.
Lower CO₂ emissions: Each retreaded tyre saves up to 115kg of CO₂, meaning 100 retreaded tyres prevent over six tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
Michelin’s multi-cycle model supports a circular economy, reducing waste while maintaining premium performance for commercial fleets.
“This second premium retread demonstrates the exceptional endurance of our casings and the constant improvement in performance of our MICHELIN ranges, thanks to technologies such as Infinicoil.”
