One of the Black Country’s leading tyre specialists, Kingswinford Tyres, is gearing up for its best-ever year following a major expansion at its Dawley Brook Industrial Estate site. The company, founded in 1992 by Andy Page with redundancy money from MG Rover, has invested over £100,000 in a new premium tyre fitting bay, enhancing its capability to service high-performance and luxury vehicles.
A crucial part of the expansion was the acquisition of a robotic tyre fitting machine and a Road Force Elite Wheel Balancer from Hunter, helping Kingswinford Tyres offer unmatched precision and safety when fitting tyres on luxury brands like Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Bentley.
The expansion was made possible with support from Business Growth West Midlands (BGWM) in Dudley, which helped secure a £27,000 grant from the Dudley SME Grant Scheme. This funding provided Kingswinford Tyres with the financial flexibility to invest in cutting-edge technology, ensuring a high level of service for premium vehicle owners.
Andy Page, Founder of Kingswinford Tyres, commented:
"We’ve nearly doubled the size of the business in the last three years and are now on course to hit £3m this financial year, with another £500,000 possible in 2025 with this new offer currently being rolled out."
He added:
"To meet the accuracy required for these vehicles, we needed this investment. The support we received from BGWM in Dudley was invaluable, particularly in helping us navigate funding options to secure the £27,000 grant."
The newly installed robotic tyre fitting machine uses laser-guided technology, ensuring:
✔ Unbeatable accuracy in tyre fitting
✔ Zero risk of damage to expensive rims and tyres
✔ Enhanced efficiency, crucial for handling premium vehicle requirements
Kingswinford Tyres has also invested in a Road Force Elite Wheel Balancer, the fastest and most efficient balancer in the world, which simulates road pressure to identify even the slightest inconsistencies.
Andy Page further explained:
"Having that extra financial freedom meant we could invest in the wheel balancer at the same time. It helps us deliver superior precision in balancing tyres for high-performance vehicles."
The company turned to Business Growth West Midlands for expert advice on expansion, completing a GROWTHMapper® diagnostic tool and accessing referrals to Innovate UK and the Investment Readiness Programme.
Toni Ball, Finance Administrator at Kingswinford Tyres, commented:
"BGWM in Dudley has opened our eyes to what is out there, making a complex landscape simple to navigate. Their support helped us complete our expansion plans six months earlier than expected, allowing us to be first to market with our high-end premium tyre fitting service."
Business Growth West Midlands, managed by Dudley Council and funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, is actively supporting over 600 businesses in the borough. The support package includes:
✔ Expert advice from local business growth advisers
✔ Grant programmes to enhance productivity and drive businesses toward net zero
✔ Innovation and entrepreneurship support for start-ups and established firms
Donna Watkins, Business Growth Adviser for BGWM in Dudley, noted:
"Andy, Toni, and the team at Kingswinford Tyres fully embraced the support available to them. By being open to new ideas and external guidance, they successfully secured the £27,000 grant, which has been instrumental in moving the business forward."
Kingswinford Tyres, approved by the AA and RAC, has built a strong reputation for quality service, offering:
