First Stop Strengthens Team with Key Promotions Amid Network Expansion

First Stop has announced a series of key internal promotions as the company continues its robust network expansion across the UK and Ireland. The promotions highlight the contributions of the retail business consultancy team in securing 11 new franchise partners in the first two months of the year.

New Appointments and Promotions

Shaun Sweeney and Nick Salt, both with over a decade of combined experience at First Stop, have been promoted to National Franchise Manager UK & Ireland and UK Territory Manager, respectively. In addition, Damian Cleaver has joined as Business Development Manager for Wales and the South West, bringing 25 years of automotive retail experience from his previous role as Area Manager at ETB Autocentres.

A Tailored Approach to Dealer Support

First Stop’s success is attributed to its bespoke support packages designed around the specific needs of each dealer. Central to this approach is the Autoprocure platform, a one-stop-shop for tyres, featuring a unique tyre comparison site. The newly launched Advantage Package, which is free for garages to join, provides access to superior rates with premium suppliers across tyres, parts, and other services, alongside existing offerings such as signage, training, and health and safety.

Positive Market Response

Shaun Sweeney expressed optimism despite challenges in the automotive industry:
"Our new proposition has really resonated with independent garages and it has been a big success. We’re welcoming a number of new dealers to the network, with a tailored package of support that is adding real value to their businesses."

Echoing these sentiments, Nick Salt added:
"Our Advantage Package has gained real traction because it is designed to meet the requirements of individual businesses and its range of services are striking a chord with new and existing partners."

A Strong Start for Damian Cleaver

Damian Cleaver, now responsible for supporting Wales and the South West, emphasised his approach to dealer relationships:
"I understand the many challenges and opportunities that a dealer partner faces on a daily basis and in simple terms, I’m here to help them. The mood within the network is very positive right now."
