Bridgestone and Porsche Expand Collaboration

Bridgestone has been selected as the official tyre supplier for Porsche’s new Macan Electric and third-generation Panamera, developing tailor-made Potenza Sport ultra-high-performance tyres for both models. Additionally, the Panamera now offers the Blizzak LM005, marking Bridgestone’s first winter original fitment for Porsche.

This collaboration follows Bridgestone’s successful partnership with Porsche on the Cayenne, further strengthening the relationship between the two premium automotive brands.

Steven De Bock, Vice President of Original Equipment (OE) at Bridgestone EMEA, commented:
*“After our collaboration on the Porsche Cayenne, we’re breaking new ground in our partnership and offering premium tyre fitments to help enhance the driving experience of new Porsche models.
“We’re proud to share two firsts – the Panamera’s first Bridgestone OE fitment and our first bespoke tyre for an electric Porsche car with the Macan Electric. It is exciting to showcase our ability to provide a range of premium fitments that will help Porsche’s drivers get the most out of these two incredible and very different cars.”*

Bespoke Tyres for Porsche’s First All-Electric SUV

For the Macan Electric, Bridgestone’s custom-engineered Potenza Sport tyres feature an advanced tread and compound design optimised for the unique demands of electric vehicles.

These ultra-high-performance tyres manage the high weight and instant torque of Porsche’s first electric SUV while maximising:

Dry and wet handling
Braking performance
Comfort
Rolling resistance (supporting the Macan Electric’s ~600km range)

The key enabler behind these improvements is Bridgestone’s ENLITEN Technology, designed to deliver uncompromising performance while enhancing sustainability.

The custom Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres for the Macan Electric are available globally in six dimensions across 20”, 21”, and 22” sizes.

Bridgestone Tyres for the Porsche Panamera: Performance in All Conditions

Bridgestone has also developed two distinct bespoke fitments for the Porsche Panamera, catering to year-round performance needs:

1️⃣ Potenza Sport (21”) – Delivers high-speed performance, dry and wet handling, and low rolling resistance for improved energy efficiency.
2️⃣ Blizzak LM005 (20”) – Enhances grip and stability in dry, wet, and snow conditions, marking Bridgestone’s first original winter fitment for Porsche.

Both tyre models are engineered and manufactured in Europe.

Virtual Tyre Development: Enhancing Performance & Sustainability

Bridgestone leveraged its Virtual Tyre Development technology to create these bespoke fitments. This digital engineering approach helped to:

🔹 Reduce raw material consumption and CO₂ emissions by up to 60% during development
🔹 Enhance braking capabilities to match Porsche’s requirements
🔹 Optimise handling characteristics for the Macan Electric’s high torque and weight

This innovative method not only improves tyre efficiency and sustainability but also speeds up the development cycle to meet Porsche’s high-performance standards.
