TyreSafe has marked a series of strategic collaborations in early 2025, reinforcing its national mission to improve road safety through better tyre care. From the rural roads of the UK to urban service centres and fire station forecourts, new and returning partners have played pivotal roles in expanding awareness, delivering practical support, and promoting the life-saving importance of regular tyre checks.
Ring Automotive celebrated five years as a TyreSafe supporter, highlighting its continued role in empowering drivers with practical tyre care tools and educational outreach. The company’s award-winning range of inflators and pressure gauges has been central to nationwide campaigns, including community car wash events and social media awareness efforts.
Pro-Align rejoined TyreSafe as a Commercial Member, reaffirming its commitment to preventative maintenance and professional standards. By promoting the role of wheel alignment in tyre longevity and vehicle safety, Pro-Align supports garages and workshops in adopting proactive, data-driven servicing protocols.
In response to alarming statistics around fatalities on rural roads—where crashes are nearly four times more likely to be fatal than in urban areas—TyreSafe has partnered with NFU Mutual, the UK’s leading rural insurer. Together, they aim to equip rural road users with the knowledge to maintain safe tyres amid challenging conditions such as poor lighting, potholes, and the presence of large agricultural vehicles.
The partnership builds on NFU Mutual’s previous campaigns and its publication of the Code for Countryside Roads. The collaboration promotes TyreSafe’s ACT message (Air pressure, Condition, Tread) and strengthens community engagement on seasonal and year-round tyre safety.
Meanwhile, a collaborative pilot led by Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, with support from TyreSafe and fellow regional services, has successfully evaluated the integration of tyre checks into charity car wash events. With support from partners including Ring Automotive, the initiative reached over 700 vehicles, uncovering a significant proportion with illegal or borderline tyre issues.
With 12% of inspected vehicles found to have at least one illegal tyre, and 20% with borderline safety concerns, the pilot has prompted discussions with the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) to extend the scheme nationally. The project demonstrated the power of community-based engagement and the trusted role of fire services in delivering essential road safety messaging.
These developments exemplify a growing, cross-sector approach to tyre safety in the UK. Whether through retail partnerships, insurer engagement, or public service outreach, TyreSafe’s model is evolving to meet the diverse needs of road users. As new mobility patterns emerge—driven by EV uptake, seasonal agriculture, and ageing vehicle fleets—strategic collaboration remains essential. Future success will depend on maintaining momentum across education, equipment provision, and real-world checks that reach drivers where they are.
