Stone Tyres, which has earned numerous accolades—including the Tyre Retailer of the Year award three times and St Helens Chamber Business of the Year—continues to be trusted by its loyal customer base for honesty, quality, and professional excellence. Now, with this exciting addition, Stone Tyres will be able to meet customer demand for comprehensive vehicle services under one roof.
John Stone shared his enthusiasm for the new project, stating, “We have a hugely successful well-respected business already with STONE TYRES LIMITED and are constantly asked why we don't offer servicing and MOTs as our customers trust us that much and value our honesty. Well, now we will!”
The move not only represents Stone Tyres’ dedication to serving the needs of its customers but also reflects Stone’s commitment to investing in St Helens. Stone estimates his total investment in the area to be over £1.5 million, reinforcing his belief in the local community and in the town’s future prospects with the ongoing regeneration plan.
The project is expected to create at least 10 new full-time, well-paid skilled jobs, directly contributing to the local economy. “We are a local business, employing local people, giving back to the local community,” Stone added.

Stone extended his gratitude to those who helped bring this ambitious expansion to life. Special thanks were given to Paul Mak for brokering the deal, Heather H. at Black & White Bridging for their unwavering support with financing, Laura Harrild at Glenville Walker for her dedicated work on the property purchase, and Rhys Jones Dip CII for managing multiple insurance policy updates for the new premises.
The new facility will take several months to set up, with work to include fitting the new building, obtaining MOT centre approval, and securing planning approval from St Helens Council.
Stone assures his customers it will be worth the wait, noting, “Rome wasn’t built in a day... this will take several months... but it will be worth the wait.”
Stone Tyres continues to set the standard for automotive service excellence, and this expansion is a notable milestone in both the business and the St Helens community’s growth.
