The Road Haulage Association (RHA) has announced a new industry-wide survey aimed at gathering insights from road transport operators on decarbonising HGV, coach, and van fleets. The survey, which will remain open until 15 April 2025, seeks input from businesses across the sector to inform the RHA’s work with Government and other stakeholders involved in achieving Net Zero goals.
The RHA's Net Zero survey aims to collect valuable feedback from operators on the challenges and opportunities related to adopting alternatively fuelled vehicles, including battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, and low carbon fuel options. The results will play a critical role in defining the sector's needs and supporting the development of effective decarbonisation strategies.
RHA Managing Director Richard Smith emphasised the importance of industry participation, stating:
"Today we’re launching an industry-wide Net Zero survey and we’re asking operators for their views on decarbonising HGV, coach, and van fleets. The survey is a crucial opportunity for businesses to have their say on the way ahead, and the insights from it will help us best define what our sectors need on the road to net zero."
The RHA is keen to receive responses from a broad spectrum of businesses within the road transport industry. The feedback will help highlight how prepared operators are to integrate alternatively fuelled vehicles into their fleets and identify areas where additional support may be needed.
Smith added:
"The results will help us to better highlight how ready operators are to bring alternatively fuelled vehicles into their fleets. We want as much feedback from across the road transport sector as possible. This survey will also help to inform our work with Government and other stakeholders involved in delivering HGV, coach, and van decarbonisation."
The RHA Net Zero survey is available to complete online [HERE] and will close at 5 pm on Tuesday, 15 April 2025.
Operators and stakeholders are encouraged to participate to ensure their voices are heard in shaping the future of a greener, more sustainable road transport sector.
