Giti Tire has officially launched the Giti GSR237EVO and Giti GDR675EVO, the first in a new series of truck and bus tyres under the “EVO” badge. Developed to support regional transport operators seeking fuel savings and environmental benefits, these tyres bring measurable improvements in rolling resistance, noise reduction, and durability. The tyres made their official debut at The Tire Cologne 2024.

Energy-saving design through RRC upgrades

The new EVO series is designed to offer lower Rolling Resistance Coefficients (RRC), supporting better fuel economy and reduced emissions:

□ The GSR237EVO steer tyre improves to a B-grade RRC, up from C-grade in the previous GSR237. It is available in 315/70R22.5, 385/55R22.5, and 385/65R22.5 sizes.

□ The GDR675EVO drive tyre also sees an upgrade, moving to a C-grade RRC from the earlier GDR675 version. Currently, it is available in 315/70R22.5.

Lower noise, better wear resistance

Both tyres have been awarded an A-grade for external noise, offering quieter operation on the road.

New internal compound technology and optimised tyre curing processes help reduce hysteresis, boosting wear resistance and tyre longevity. This enhances the tyre’s ability to be retreaded, an important feature for fleet managers looking to control long-term operating costs.

RFID chips enable full tyre lifecycle tracking

One of the standout features of the EVO series is the integration of RFID chips. These chips enable digital tracking of the tyre across its entire lifecycle — from manufacturing to fleet use, retreading, and eventual disposal. Giti is among the first to introduce this feature in the European market.

This digital traceability offers clear advantages for fleets in managing performance data and complying with sustainability goals.

Designed for regional use, developed in Europe

The Giti GSR237EVO and GDR675EVO tyres are part of the company’s Combi Road portfolio, tailored for regional transport applications. They are designed to work alongside the Eco Road range, which focuses on long-haul operations.

Development took place at Giti Tire’s European R&D Centre in Hannover, Germany.

Antonio Palummo, Senior Manager TBR at Giti Tire, commented on the launch:

“We are excited to bring the EVO series to the market, offering a clear performance advantage across key areas for regional fleet use. With lower rolling resistance, quieter performance, and advanced lifecycle tracking, the GSR237EVO and GDR675EVO tyres help fleet managers identify energy-efficient options that perform across diverse driving conditions.”
