Vipal Rubber has been named the exclusive tyre supplier for Honda motorcycles in the country. This historic collaboration, commencing in 2023, solidifies Vipal Rubber's position as a key player in the motorcycle tyre industry.
Under this new partnership, Vipal Rubber will directly supply tyres for the production of select Honda motorcycle models, starting with the Honda CG 160 Fan. This model, a market leader in Brazil's motorcycle segment, will roll out of the factory with Vipal's Street ST600 tyres as the original equipment. The CG 160 Fan is set to feature the Street ST600 80/100-18 (front) and Street ST600 90/90-18 (rear) tyres, both Tubeless.
As of June, the first units of the CG 160 Fan equipped with Vipal tyres have started arriving at dealerships across the country. These tyres, manufactured at Vipal Rubber's plant in Feira de Santana, Bahia, boast qualities of exceptional quality, safety, resistance, and durability. The Manager of Vipal Rubber's Two-Wheeled Business Unit, Felipe Henzel, highlights that the brand's tyres underwent rigorous testing, contributing to the selection as Honda's new supplier in Brazil.
Henzel expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "It is with great joy that we celebrate this very valuable and important partnership for the company, a moment that ratifies our relevance and quality in the production of tyres for two-wheelers." He emphasizes the growing two-wheeler industry in Brazil, projecting an optimistic outlook for 2023, with an expected production of 1.5 million motorcycle units.
Renan Patricio Lima, the CEO of Vipal Rubber, echoed Henzel's sentiments, expressing pride in the partnership with Honda. "To see our Two-wheeled business evolve to become a supplier of motorcycle tyres to the leading manufacturer in the domestic market shows that we are on the right track," said Lima. "Honda's choice of Vipal tyres to equip its motorcycles is something to be widely celebrated, especially when we have reached the mark of 50 years of activity."
