GB Tyres, has embarked on an ambitious venture to accommodate their remarkable growth. Faced with escalating customer demand and an ever-expanding product range, the company has outgrown its existing facilities and is now building a state-of-the-art storage and distribution facility in Oldbury.

The project will more than double their storage capacity at this location, solidifying their position as one of the largest stockholders in Europe.

Despite boasting a significant storage space of approximately 250,000 square feet across two sprawling sites in the Midlands, GB Tyres found themselves in need of even more room to meet the skyrocketing demands of their loyal customer base. The growth in turnover and the continuous rise in demand for commercial vehicle tyres, passenger car tyes, agricultural tyres, and OTR (Off-The-Road) products have necessitated an expansion beyond their current capabilities.

Taking a proactive approach to address this challenge, GB Tyres completed the acquisition of additional land behind their existing warehouse in Oldbury this April. Since then, construction work has been progressing rapidly, giving rise to a brand-new facility that promises to revolutionise their operations.

Once completed in 2024, the new facility will not only boost storage capacity but also serve as the company's official head office. With a total area of 350,000 square feet in Oldbury alone and a combined storage capacity of 450,000 square feet when factoring in their existing facility in Tipton, GB Tyres is poised to house an unparalleled stock of tyres.

The development in Oldbury will encompass more than just expanded storage space. GB Tyres plans to incorporate modern office facilities and customer hospitality areas, creating an environment that embodies their commitment to exceptional service. Additionally, the existing warehouse in Oldbury will undergo an extensive refurbishment, streamlining storage and logistics operations while further enhancing the overall customer experience.

With an estimated stockholding of 550,000 passenger car tyres, 90,000 truck tyres, and 3,500 agricultural and OTR tyres, the company is positioning itself as a tyre powerhouse in Europe. This strategic move not only showcases their determination to adapt to the ever-changing industry landscape but also reflects their unwavering commitment to providing their loyal customers with access to the best tyre stocks available and delivering unparalleled service.

"We are very excited to share news of this new facility with everything now rubber stamped and building work already in progress. It will allow us to further Improve the service and range of quality products we can provide to our valued customers. I look forward to welcoming our selected partners and our customers to the new site.”
