TyreSafe has announced an exciting new partnership with CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Community Safety), the leading National Standard for safer construction vehicle journeys. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in promoting tyre safety across the construction logistics sector, a key industry where road safety and operational efficiency go hand-in-hand.
CLOCS, which works with a wide range of road users including HGVs, LCVs, grey fleets, and powered two-wheelers, shares TyreSafe’s commitment to improving safety standards and protecting all road users. Together, the organisations will focus on increasing tyre safety awareness among fleet operators, contractors, and other stakeholders in the construction industry.
TyreSafe’s partnership with CLOCS aims to reduce risks on the road, protect drivers, and improve air quality, congestion, and commercial reputations. The initiative underscores the importance of tyre maintenance in mitigating road risks, particularly in the heavy vehicle sector, where tyre condition is critical to safe operations.
Both organisations are set to deliver a range of resources, including targeted awareness campaigns, informative toolkits, and actionable guidance to help members of the construction logistics industry adopt best practices for tyre management.
TyreSafe Chair Stuart Lovatt commented on the partnership:
“Our new collaboration with CLOCS represents a milestone in extending tyre safety awareness and best practices to the construction logistics sector. By working together to reduce risks and encourage collaboration within the industry, we can make a significant impact on road safety, environmental efficiency, and the wellbeing of all road users.”
The collaboration was highlighted at the recent CLOCS and Driving for Better Business (DfBB) Conference, held on 20th November 2024, at the British Motor Museum. TyreSafe attended the event, gaining valuable insights into road risk management and the challenges faced by the construction logistics industry. This knowledge will play a key role in shaping their joint initiatives moving forward.
This partnership between TyreSafe and CLOCS is set to have a lasting impact on the construction logistics sector by integrating tyre safety into its broader road safety efforts. By fostering collaboration among regulators, clients, and fleet operators, the initiative paves the way for safer roads and more sustainable operations across the industry.
