As part of Neurodiversity Celebration Week, the automotive industry charity Ben has introduced a range of new support programmes and resources to assist neurodivergent individuals across the sector. With rising awareness of neurodivergence—including autism, ADHD, and dyslexia—Ben aims to offer tailored guidance and practical tools to help those affected manage their personal and professional lives.
According to Ben’s latest industry insights, neurodivergent individuals in the automotive sector are at a higher risk of experiencing mental, physical, financial, and social difficulties. Alarmingly, 73% of neurodivergent people reported experiencing anxiety, compared to 44% of neurotypical individuals. Similarly, 57% of neurodivergent individuals reported stress at home, compared to 32% of neurotypical individuals.
Currently, nearly 9% of individuals seeking support from Ben are affected by neurodiversity—either personally or as a partner, carer, or parent of a neurodivergent person.
In response to this growing need, Ben has launched two new digital therapeutic programmes via its SilverCloud platform. These are free for automotive industry workers and their family dependents. The programmes include:

In addition, two personal stories have been shared to highlight the lived experiences of neurodivergent individuals:
To support employers in creating an inclusive workplace, Ben has also released a new article featuring insights from Julie Hayes, Head of Specialist Services. The piece explores how businesses can better support neurodivergent employees, foster understanding, and reduce stigma in the workplace.
Rachel Clift, Ben’s Chief Executive Officer, commented:
“This Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we’re pleased to launch a range of new support programmes, resources, and content on this hugely important topic. Our insights reveal that neurodivergent individuals in the automotive industry are facing greater challenges with their health and wellbeing, making it all the more important for us to provide easy access to relevant support for them and show them that we’re always here if and when they need us.”
“By fully embracing neurodiversity across our sector, we can create a more inclusive environment where all individuals can thrive, both personally and professionally. Through this campaign, we aim to raise awareness and reduce stigma around neurodivergence, as well as encourage open conversations, greater understanding, and support.”
Ben will also share additional resources from Neurodiversity Celebration Week across its channels to amplify awareness.
Ben encourages anyone in the automotive industry facing challenges related to neurodiversity to reach out for support.
