Hankook Tyre has recently unveiled the SmartFlex DL15+, a TBR tyre that promises to improve traction and fuel efficiency for both regional and long-haul vehicles. Designed to reduce deformation and enhance energy dispersion, this tyre is the result of Hankook's innovative Smartec TBR technology.
The SmartFlex DL15+ features an optimised bead profile and carcass structure that reduces deformation and improves overall energy dispersion when the tyre is under heavy load. This technology ensures a higher level of durability, extending casing life and enabling retreading when required.
Hankook's Smartec TBR technology is based on five performance characteristics: safety, mileage, anti chip-cut, retreadability and traction. This allows for the introduction of new tread technologies, such as 3D self-regenerating sipes, which turn out at the mid and latter stages of the tyre's service life. These sipes significantly improve traction and reinforce interlocking components between blocks until the tyre is completely worn.
In addition to the improved traction, the DL15+ also features a combined rib and semi-block pattern for additional stability and handling. A wide closed shoulder pattern at the edges ensures smoother wear during the tyre's service life. Compared to its predecessor, the SmartFlex DL15+ also benefits from a 12-point increase in its rolling resistance coefficient and is SmartWay certified.
