Firestone has announced the launch of its latest product, the Roadhawk 2 ENLITEN.
This new tyre, which is a successor to the popular Roadhawk summer touring tyre, is set to redefine standards in the industry with its state-of-the-art ENLITEN technology.
The Roadhawk 2 ENLITEN is not just an upgrade; it's a leap forward in tyre performance. It boasts best-in-class wet grip, a feature that earned it the prestigious EU label A-grade. This is coupled with a remarkable 20 percent increase in mileage and a 12 percent reduction in rolling resistance compared to its predecessor, the original Firestone Roadhawk. These enhancements not only promise improved fuel and energy efficiency but also contribute to the tyre's sustainability credentials.
Firestone's commitment to innovation and sustainability is evident in the Roadhawk 2 ENLITEN's design. The tyre incorporates ENLITEN technology, a blend of advanced technologies that deliver maximum safety and outstanding performance. This is further enhanced by an innovative mixing technology and the integration of NanoPro-Tech, a high silica content compound that ensures robust abrasion resistance and longer mileage.
The Roadhawk 2 ENLITEN is also future-proof, being EV-ready. Developed at Bridgestone’s Rome-based R&D Centre, this tyre is capable of meeting the specific requirements of electric vehicles, in addition to the general performance demands of any vehicle.
Steven De Bock, Vice President Consumer Replacement and OE at Bridgestone EMIA, emphasized the tyre's relevance in today's market. “Everyday drivers are demanding safety on the roads and, in this current climate, increased value for money,” he said. “The Roadhawk has represented the best of Firestone, and now we’ve taken it to another level by introducing the incredible capabilities of ENLITEN with the Roadhawk 2 ENLITEN. And as an EV-ready tyre that’s available in a wider collection of sizes, this tyre’s performance benefits can be brought to many more drivers.”
The Roadhawk 2 ENLITEN will be available from January 2024 in Europe and the Middle East in sizes ranging from 17″ to 21″. This expansion includes 19 additional sizes compared to the original Roadhawk, covering 90 percent of the total MID summer market. Furthermore, 16″ sizes will be introduced in January 2025, bringing the total available sizes to 112.
This launch marks a significant step for Firestone in its journey towards providing innovative, sustainable, and high-performance tyre solutions. With the Roadhawk 2 ENLITEN, Firestone is not just delivering a tyre; it's providing a promise of safety, efficiency, and sustainability for the roads of tomorrow.
