Kwik Fit, the UK's leading automotive servicing and repair company, has announced its partnership with Air Ambulances UK (AAUK). This collaboration aims to champion the commendable work of the UK's 21 air ambulance charities.
Air Ambulances UK, an organisation dedicated to supporting the essential missions of air ambulance charities, will now benefit from Kwik Fit's nationwide support. This partnership will not only raise funds for all 21 regional charities but also amplify both local and national awareness about their indispensable services.
It's noteworthy that these charities, which play a pivotal role in emergency medical services, receive minimal to no funding from central and local governments. Their operations, which include over 100 air ambulance missions daily, are primarily funded through donations. Kwik Fit's involvement as a national partner is anticipated to significantly boost awareness and financial support for these crucial services.
Starting 11th October, customers visiting any of the 600+ Kwik Fit centres across the UK or making online purchases at kwik-fit.com will have the opportunity to donate to Air Ambulances UK. Furthermore, Kwik Fit staff are gearing up for a series of fundraising activities throughout the year. These initiatives will bolster the national campaign and support local air ambulance charities that cater to their communities.
Mark Slade, Managing Director of Kwik Fit, expressed his admiration for the air ambulance charities, stating, "The air ambulance charities across the UK provide essential support on a daily basis, helping improve patients’ chances of survival by providing life-saving pre-hospital care." He further highlighted the positive influence of Kwik Fit's employees, industry partners, and customers in supporting national causes and expressed enthusiasm about making a significant contribution to the UK's air ambulance network.
Kwik Fit's history of charity partnerships is impressive. In recent years, they have raised over £1.6 million for national charities, including Prostate Cancer UK, Children with Cancer UK, and the Disaster Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian and Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeals, among others.
Simmy Akhtar, Chief Executive Officer of Air Ambulances UK, expressed gratitude for Kwik Fit's support, emphasising the critical role of air ambulance charities in providing urgent care. She noted, "With each mission costing, on average, nearly £4,000, the national support from Kwik Fit will make a significant difference to the capabilities of all the air ambulance charities and help save even more lives."
