The British Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (BTMA) has announced the appointment of Darren Lindsey as its new Chief Executive, succeeding Graham Willson, who is set to retire at the end of April. Lindsey, currently serving as the commercial product director at Michelin Tyre PLC, is poised to bring over two decades of industry experience to the forefront of the BTMA.
Darren Lindsey's appointment marks a significant transition for the BTMA as it looks to continue its mission of representing and advancing the interests of the tyre manufacturing industry in the UK. With a career spanning more than 25 years, Lindsey's extensive experience in both national and international roles is expected to be a key asset in navigating the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
“I am honoured to be entrusted with this important role. I look forward to taking up the challenge of its many different facets and of building on the work that Graham has undertaken over many years,” Lindsey commented on his new position.
Graham Willson leaves behind a legacy of strong leadership and advocacy for the tyre industry. During his tenure, Willson played a crucial role in representing the interests of leading tyre manufacturers to government bodies, NGOs, and within the community of industry associations. His efforts have been instrumental in defending and shaping the industry in an ever-evolving landscape.
“It’s been a privilege to represent the leading tyre manufacturers... I wish Darren every success as he takes on this exciting and challenging role,” Willson stated, reflecting on his time with the BTMA.
The BTMA board and its chairman, Jamie Stevens, have expressed their gratitude towards Graham Willson for his dedication and leadership. Stevens remarked, “We are deeply indebted to Graham for his time as Chief Executive which has seen many changes to the industry and its people. We look forward to working with Darren as he takes the Association forward into its next chapter. We wish Graham a long and healthy retirement.”
