Magna Tyres Group has acquired Belgium-based Forrez, adding a long-established tyre and mobility services business to its growing European network. The deal marks the group’s sixth strategic acquisition in recent years and points to continued consolidation across tyre distribution, fleet service and specialist tyre supply in Europe.

A stronger European service base

Forrez has operated in Belgium for around 60 years, with activities spanning tyre and rim distribution, sales, fleet solutions, industrial tyres and vehicle maintenance. Its customer base covers transport, industrial, agricultural and automotive markets, giving Magna Tyres a broader service platform in a strategically important European region.

The deal follows a series of acquisitions by Magna Tyres Group as it builds from a tyre manufacturer into a wider tyre solutions organisation. Tyre News has previously covered the group’s Australian expansion through the Telescope Tyres acquisition, which added east-coast coverage to Magna Tyres Australia.

Why the deal matters

For tyre wholesalers, fleets and specialist operators, the acquisition is significant because it links product supply with local service capacity. That combination is becoming more important as fleets look for reliable tyre availability, technical support and multi-segment coverage across trucks, industrial vehicles and agricultural equipment.

Magna Tyres said the addition of Forrez supports its ambition to build a larger global tyre solutions group. Following the deal, the combined group is expected to generate around €275 million in annual turnover in 2026, with a longer-term target of €650 million by 2029.

Continuity for Forrez customers

Forrez will continue operating under its established name and management structure. That approach mirrors Magna Tyres’ pattern of preserving local market identity while adding central purchasing, product availability and operational support.

Michael de Ruijter, President of Magna Tyres Group, said the company’s growth had been built around “local expertise at its core”. He added that Forrez would help strengthen Magna Tyres’ European position while improving service and support for customers.

Christine Forrez and Geert Mertens said joining Magna Tyres Group marked an “important new chapter” for the Belgian business, while allowing it to retain its entrepreneurial culture and service quality.

Part of a wider consolidation pattern

The acquisition reflects a broader movement in the tyre trade, where distribution, service and specialist segment knowledge are increasingly being brought together under larger groups. Magna Tyres’ recent expansion also sits alongside its product development activity, including Magna Tyres MA801 TR solid tyre for recycling applications.

For independent dealers and fleet service providers, the key issue will be how group scale affects product access, pricing discipline and service competition. For Magna Tyres, the Forrez deal adds a recognised Belgian operator at a time when European tyre supply remains shaped by cost pressure, fleet efficiency demands and the need for specialist technical support.
